A member of the NSDA Hall of Fame since 2001, Randy co-authored the bestselling textbook Glencoe Speech. Among his other 11 published books--sales of more than 500, 000 copies-- are Get Off My Brain, a New York Public Library Best Book of the Year and Can You Find It?, a Ben Franklin National Book Award winner.

 

Randy led teams in four different states to 25 state championships and to national team championships in the NFL and NCFL. Over 400 of Randy’s students qualified for Nationals (NFL & CFL). He was named Nebraska Teacher of the Year in 1985 and National Speech Coach of the Year in 1987.

 

Hall of Fame member Frank Sferra called Randy the “best speech coach in America.” Preeta Bansal, a former clerk for the Supreme Court, said, “I learned more about writing from Randy than I did at Harvard and Harvard Law."
